Ortica is situated in beautiful traditional farmhouse on a lovely estate in a magnificent position on top of a hill with wonderful views all around. Just 4.5kms away is the beautiful medieval town of San Gimignano which can be seen across the valley from corners of the estate. The estate itself spreads over 180 hectares of pasture, agricultural land and woods and produces wine and olive oil which are available for purchase. Guests are free to wander the estate, which, rich in flora and fauna is the most delightful location for enjoying country walks and admiring the magnificent landscape.

Ortica is a spacious apartment simply and comfortably furnished in typical Tuscan style. The living room has a kitchen area, dining table and chairs, settee, armchair and television and there are two bedrooms and two shower rooms. The doors of the living room open onto a covered patio furnished with table and chairs and overlooking the garden and vineyards beyond. There is a barbeque in the grounds for guests use.

A path leads to the beautiful swimming pool (14m x 7m) which looks out across sunflower fields, vineyards and olive groves to the distant hills. The pool is furnished with sunbeds and sun umbrellas, and there is a handy changing room with shower and w.c. as well as a utility room with washing machine for communal use, Wi Fi internet connection is also available.
La Fattoria 'The Plateau Estate' composed of the owner's manor house, with its own chapel, two traditional Tuscan farmhouses which have been restored to offer very comfortable apartments, and a panoramic swimming pool. There are most stunning views of the countryside and vineyards all around and from some corners of the estate, the medieval hamlet of Montauto and the towers of the city of San Gimignano are visible over the valley.

Across from the farmhouse where apartment Ortica is situated, is a restored barn which has been converted into a communal open lounge area with easy chairs, television and ping pong table. Parking is in the grounds of the estate close to the farmhouse.

La Fattoria is only 4.5 kms from San Gimignano. Known as 'The City of Towers' it is a fascinating place to explore, with many craft shops, local art galleries, and historic monuments, as well as an excellent selection of restaurants. 15km away is the town of Poggibonsi which has road, rail and bus links to Florence and Siena making both of these towns easily accessible, and Volterra with its amphitheatre and interesting Etruscan museum is only 30 minutes drive away.
