During the Second World War Poggibonsi was considerably damaged, but at the end of the nineteenth century it became the most important industrial and commercial center of Val d'Elsa especially for its furniture factories and for the active trade in wines and oil. Today it is a center full of shops and services and thanks to its strategic position, its road and rail links, it is a great choice to reach the most important destinations of Tuscany.
