The estate spreads over twenty hectares and grows corn and sunflowers as well as producing olive oil and local wine. In the heart of the estate is the owners farmhouse and an adjacent farm building which has been lovingly restored into four pretty ground floor apartments, furnished in country style and retaining beamed ceilings and terracotta floors so typical of Tuscany.

Focolare consists of a living room with fully equipped kitchen area, dining table and chairs, fireplace with wood burning stove and settee (which converts to a double bed on request to accommodate an extra person), a pretty double bedroom and a shower room. Whilst having a homely atmosphere with many personal touches the apartment has been fitted with modern comforts including dishwasher, satellite television and air conditioning (payable locally). It opens directly onto a garden terrace furnished with table, chairs and barbecue, for dining al fresco whilst enjoying the pretty view of the pool and surrounding countryside.

The swimming pool (12m x 5m), situated in the well kept grounds, is surrounded by lawns and equipped with plenty of sun loungers creating the ideal spot for relaxing whilst soaking up the atmosphere. Also on the estate is a communal lounge/dining room with huge characteristic fireplace, where the friendly owners are happy to let you taste their wine and local produce also available for purchase. There is a washing machine for guests use, and parking is in the grounds.

Focolare is the perfect base from which to explore the area. Beautiful Cortona with its interesting Etruscan origins is only 8km away, whilst the towns of Montepulciano, renowned for its excellent wine, and Pienza, for its pecorino cheese are both close by. In addition, Arezzo, infamous for its Piero della Francesca frescoes, and Siena with its shell shaped Piazza del Campo are both less than an hours' drive.

Lake Trasimeno just 20 km away has beaches, sailing facilities, and ferry services to its islands, and the main motorway (8km) and nearby rail links make Rome and Florence easily accessible.
