Villa Leonardo 12 is a gorgeous villa situated in wonderful position with magnificent views over the olive groves and verdant countryside towards the town of Vinci. The villa has been fully restored and retains many original characteristics including the beautiful facade with a lovely arched loggia. There are large gardens sweeping around the villa and a pretty swimming pool perfectly placed in the terraced grounds below the villa also enjoys a fantastic panorama. The town of Vinci is close by and can be reached on foot and the villa is excellently located for visiting the main sights of Tuscany.

This beautiful villa which dates back to the 17th Century was originally a country residence and is immersed in the countryside yet within walking distance of the lovely town of Vinci, famous as the birthplace of the great artist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci. The town, as well as having a good selection of amenities and restaurants, in fact houses a very interesting museum with Leonardo’s inventions and the house where he was born is very close to the villa and can also be visited.

Villa Leonardo 12 consists of the main villa and a separate annex. The main villa is on two floors and has been beautifully restored retaining the lovely arched loggia at the front creating a characteristic covered terrace. The interiors are spacious and comfortably furnished in an elegant mixture of traditional classic Tuscan and modern styles. The ground floor consists of an inviting living room with stone fireplace (decorative only), comfortable settees, piano and large picture windows looking out onto the loggia, there is a lovely dining room next door to which is a fully equipped kitchen which opens onto the rear garden. Also on this floor is a washroom with basin and w.c.

A stone staircase leads to the first floor, where there are four pretty bedrooms each with satellite television and fly screens, and three lovely bathrooms fitted with elegant marble features. Two of the bedrooms have double beds and ensuite shower rooms (one with oval bathtub, one with shower), another bedroom has twin beds, and the fourth has a double bed and a single bed. These share a large shower room. On the same floor is a studio with settees and television, ideal for relaxing or reading a book, and there is also a laundry room with a washer/dryer for guests use.

In addition to the main villa which sleeps nine persons, there is a pretty annex overlooking the swimming pool which sleeps a further three persons. Originally a hayloft, the annex has been converted into a studio style open plan apartment simply and comfortably furnished in modern style. It has a double and single bed, a kitchenette, a shower room and the comforts of air conditioning and satellite television.

Spacious gardens with lawns sweep around the side and rear of the villa and there is a shaded area with gazebo, table and chairs and barbeque perfect for dining alfresco. In a lovely position in the terraced grounds below the garden is a gorgeous swimming pool (12m x 6m) with hydro massage corners and plenty of space around to relax whilst enjoying the breathtaking views.

Once you have exhausted the local delights of the picturesque little town of Vinci, there is plenty more to see in the area. Montelupo, famous for its ceramics, is close by and Florence and Pisa can be easily reached by nearby road and rail links. A little further afield is the spa town of Montecatini Terme, and Lucca, Siena and San Gimignano are lovely days out.
