Cervantes 1 is a characteristic apartment with a little covered patio in a beautiful stone house on an estate ideally situated in the valley below the famous town of Cortona. The house is surrounded by its own grounds where there is a lovely swimming pool with a paved sun terrace bordered by lawns, and enjoying a fine view of the countryside.

The Cervantes estate consists of three lovely stone houses, the main house now forms three spacious apartments, another house is divided into two apartments occasionally used by the owners, and a further house nearby which is currently not used. The houses are set around their own gardens with lawns and there are tables, chairs and barbeques for dining al fresco. In a pretty position enjoying a fine view of the countryside is a lovely swimming pool (11m x 6m).

Cervantes 1 is situated on the ground floor of the main house, has air conditioning (payable locally) and is very comfortably furnished in typical Tuscan style with lovely terracotta tiled floors and beamed ceilings. Its entrance is via a little covered patio area which is furnished with table and chairs and opens into the apartment’s spacious open plan living room which has a settee (which converts to a double bed on request to accommodate 2 extra persons), flat screen television, fireplace, dining table and chairs and a kitchen area which is fully equipped with modern appliances. On the same floor are two double bedrooms (one of which converts to a twin on request) and a shower room. The apartment has Wi fi internet connection (payable locally).

In a pretty position in the grounds surrounding the house is a lovely swimming pool which enjoys pleasant views of the countryside and Chiana valley. Within walking distance is a small local village with grocers shop and there are a selection of restaurants within easy driving distance.

The location is perfect for visiting the famous region of Southern Tuscany. Beautiful Cortona with its interesting Etruscan origins is only ten minutes drive away and a joy to explore, whilst the towns of Montepulciano, renowned for its excellent wine, and Pienza, for its pecorino cheese are both close by. In addition, Arezzo, infamous for its Piero della Francesca frescoes in its cathedral and Siena with its shell shaped Piazza del Campo square are both less than an hours’ drive.

The treasures of the region of Umbria with its famous hill towns of Perugia and Assisi to name but a few are also within easy driving distance. Lake Trasimeno is also very close and an interesting place to visit, it has beaches, sailing facilities, and ferry services to its little islands, one of which is a natural park with lovely walks and the other ‘Isola Maggiore’ which is famous for the local women who crochet lace on the streets, an art said to be of Irish origin. The main motorway link is only 15km away, making also Rome and Florence easily accessible.
