Il Giardino is a really pretty apartment in the beautiful medieval hilltop town of Casole d’Elsa in the heart of Tuscany. It has the great highlights of its’ own secluded garden with a few olive trees and is a few steps from this gorgeous town and all it has to offer, including lovely restaurants and all amenities; the perfect location to immerse yourself in real Tuscan village life. As well as relaxing and dining al fresco in your own garden, during the summer months a short walk away is the local public swimming pool for a cooling dip.

The pretty, recently restored, building where Il Giardino apartment is situated is located just outside the village wall and adjacent to a communal courtyard. The apartment’s entrance leads directly into the comfortable living room with settee (which can convert to bed), two wicker armchairs and television. A corridor leads to the shower room and to two lovely bedrooms, one with double bed and window overlooking the garden, and one with twin beds. The pretty eat-in kitchen is particularly well equipped and has terracotta floors and dining table and chairs. The entire apartment has beautiful beamed ceilings giving it a classic Tuscan feel.

From the kitchen, a couple of steps lead to the apartment’s patio and garden area secluded by hedges. It’s a real joy to relax in the garden with a view of the old town above, or dine al fresco on the patio where there is a table and chairs and retractable sunshade. The attentive owners have of course provided a barbeque for guests’ use. Modern comforts of fly screens at the windows, washing machine and free Wi Fi internet connection are all welcome additions.

A pathway and steps lead from the apartment through the well kept streets adorned with colourful flower pots to the historic centre of the town of Casole d’Elsa, with its’ selection of bars, restaurants and shops. During the summer many craft fairs and art exhibitions as well as local festivals can be enjoyed and the public swimming pool (open mid June – beginning September), is also within walking distance.

It’s great base from which to explore Tuscany with San Gimignano, Florence, and Siena to name but a few of the beautiful towns of the region all within easy driving distance.
Parking is available nearby on the street and it is possible to unload and load luggage on arrival and departure close to the apartment.
