Montaine is a beautiful walled town perched on a hill and surrounded by wooded hills where famous local truffles and mushrooms grow abundantly. Truffle hunting and mushroom picking are both professional activities and weekend pastimes for the local population. In season, both exquisite ingredients are featured in the local cuisine and in the many dishes available in the trattoria’s and restaurants of the area.
