Greve in Chianti is one of the main towns in the famed Chianti Classico area of Tuscany. Immersed in beautiful countryside this little town is of course famous for its wine production and the rolling hills are laden with vineyards as far as the eye can see. The town itself is very quaint, especially the main square with its’ open air cafes and restaurants, the perfect spot for sipping a cappuccino and watching the world go by. Once a week the square is transformed into a bustling weekly market selling fresh local produce, clothes and shoes. Greve in Chianti is a great countryside location yet within very easy reach of the wonderful art city of Florence and the route to Siena through the Chianti countryside is surely one of the prettiest of the region. There is plenty more to see in the area, with San Gimignano and Volterra to name but a few, being within easy driving distance.
