Five Bedroom Detached Villa Casole d’Elsa

Villa Maraja is a beautiful Tuscan farmhouse resting on top of a hill enjoying beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Fully restored the villa still retains unique characteristics including terracotta floors, beamed ceilings and archways yet is fitted with all modern comforts and furnished in traditional style creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The villa is surrounded by lovely gardens where there is a terrace for dining al fresco and in a lovely position below is a large private swimming pool overlooking the valley beyond. The pretty local town of Casole d’Elsa is just 25 minutes walk via country path or 5 km by car and has a selection of shops and restaurants.

The villa is composed of the main house and a small apartment next door. Spacious and very comfortably furnished in country style the main house is on two floors. On the ground floor is a large country style kitchen which is fitted with all modern appliances and is a joy to cook in. A couple of steps lead to the lovely dining room which has a beautiful vaulted ceiling and exposed stone wall feature. An archway leads through to the comfortable lounge which has settees, armchairs, decorative fireplace and satellite television and opens onto the garden and terrace area. Just off the lounge is a large luxury bathroom complete with jacuzzi corner bath.

Stairs lead to the first floor where there is a lounge area with settees and fireplace off which are four comfortable bedrooms and three shower rooms (two of which are en suite). The first floor lounge opens onto a little loggia balcony and external steps leading down to the separate apartment next door to the main house. The apartment is on the ground floor, from its entrance steps lead down to the living/dining room which has a country style table and bench seating and settee, a couple more steps down is the kitchen which opens onto a patio overlooking the garden, and there is a double bedroom (an extra single bed can be added on request) and a shower room.

The villa is surrounded by its own lovely garden, with lawns, pretty Mediterranean plants, and enjoying a lovely view of the countryside beyond and the medieval hilltop town of Casole d’Elsa on the hill in the distance. In the garden there is a barbecue and a lovely terrace shaded by a pergola and furnished with table and chairs creating the perfect spot for dining al fresco. In a fantastic position overlooking the valley below is the beautiful swimming pool (12m x 6m) which is private to the villa and also has a jacuzzi corner.

The owners of the villa live in a completely separate farmhouse on the estate. They are very proud of the villa and their own lovely home and keep the estate grounds very well maintained. They are very nice people and whilst being friendly and helpful they will not intrude on your privacy. Parking is in the grounds next to the villa.

Villa Maraja is certainly a splendid home for a memorable holiday. Perfectly located in the countryside yet it is just 25 minutes by foot on the country paths or just 5km by road to the picturesque village of Casole d'Elsa which has a good selection of amenities including shops, supermarket, and restaurants.

The villa is well situated for visiting the most interesting sights of Tuscany being only 21km from San Gimignano, ‘City of the Beautiful Towers’ and 12km from Colle di Val d'Elsa with its beautiful medieval quarter, larger selection of shops, and road and bus links to Florence and Siena making it fast and easy to visit these famous towns.
