Estate with Two Luxury Detached Villas Florence area

The Guelfi & Ghibellini estate is in a wonderful position in the hills close to Florence. Fully enclosed and surrounded by private woodland, olive groves and landscaped gardens, the estate houses two beautiful detached villas each with its own swimming pool. Both villas are extremely comfortable and beautifully furnished in tasteful Tuscan antique style with all modern comforts and amenities. The estate is the perfect choice for larger parties travelling together, yet wishing to retain some privacy, as the villas, whilst just a stones’ throw from each other, each have private garden, terrace and swimming pool.

Villa Guelfi the larger of the two villas, is on two levels, and exquisitely furnished in very tasteful style, with many antiques and original paintings. At ground level are the beautifully decorated living areas of the villa, consisting of a large modern very well equipped kitchen, a beautiful cosy lounge with fireplace, and the exquisitely furnished main living room and adjacent dining area, both of which have patio doors leading onto the large main terrace (80sqm) complete with sun shade, table and chairs for al fresco dining, and enjoying a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside. On the same floor is a pretty washroom. The first floor of the villa is equally elegant with four beautiful bedrooms (three with double bed and air conditioning* and a single with French bed) each decorated and furnished in individual style, and there are three luxurious bathrooms. There is of course a private swimming pool (14m x 8m) immersed in the green oasis of the gardens below the villa as well as pretty gazebo with table and chairs for dining al fresco and a barbecue and pizza oven.

A stones’ throw away, is the smaller Villa Ghibellini. A gorgeous villa with stone exterior and beautiful covered terrace running the length of the house. Also built on two levels, the villa has a light and airy atmosphere thanks to its lovely open plan style, and the large windows and patio doors which open onto the terrace and garden. The ground level has a large very tastefully decorated living area, consisting of a lounge area with stone surround fireplace and settees, a dining area with table, chairs and fireplace, and a further sitting area also with comfy sofas. On the same floor is a lovely kitchen well equipped with all modern appliances. A stone staircase leads to a mezzanine floor and the upper level where there is a pretty double bedroom complete with ensuite shower room. A second staircase leads to the master bedroom again with ensuite shower room and there is a walk in wardrobe. Each bedroom is decorated in a unique manner and both have sloping ceilings and large automated windows in the roof giving a luminous feel. The villas beautiful covered terrace elegantly furnished with lovely wrought iron, crystal topped table, chairs, comfy garden sofas and easy chairs is the perfect spot for dining al fresco or relaxing whilst enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the Tuscan countryside and in a sunny position in the garden adjacent to the villa is an azure swimming pool (8m x 4.5m) for a refreshing swim.

The gardens surrounding both villas are beautifully landscaped and very well maintained by the resident caretakers who live in a separate apartment underneath Villa Guelfi. The caretakers also look after house and meticulously take care of the gardens, pools and upkeep of the villas themselves. From all corners of the estate there are beautiful views over olive groves and chestnut woods, with a backdrop of the Chianti hills beyond. Yet although immersed in beautiful countryside, amazingly the Guelfi & Ghibellini estate is just 20 minutes drive away from the centre of the city of Florence with its gorgeous Renaissance architecture and many art treasures. Other Tuscan jewels such as Siena and San Gimignano are easily reached by car, as are the delights of the Chianti wine region. The main designer outlets are close by if you fancy a spot of shopping and local food shops and amenities are just 5 minutes drive away in the nearby village of San Donato. Various extra facilities, such as laundry service and local chef are available on request (payable locally). Electricity costs are payable locally, as are air conditioning and internet costs where applicable.

Both Villa Ghibellini (4 + 1 persons) and Villa Guelfi (7 persons) can also be rented separately as they are completely private and share only the same entrance driveway into the estate enclosed via electric gate.
