Two Bedroom Ground Floor Apartment Tuscany Coast

Fonte 2 is a delightful apartment and adjacent annex, one half of a lovely stone house on a beautiful estate in the heart of the countryside yet within walking distance of the medieval hilltop village of Monteverdi Marittima and close to the Tuscan coast and its fine beaches. Within the vast grounds of the estate is a large swimming pool and plenty of areas for relaxing and enjoying the sun and surroundings. Another highlight is the unique heated swimming pool covered with a wonderful travertine vaulted ceiling. Fonte 2 has its own terrace area and barbeque and is comfortably furnished with many artistic touches.

The estate itself is home to an amazing and internationally famous artist who lives in the main Florentine style villa. Examples of his work can be seen in a large garden on the estate, practically an open air gallery displaying bronze and travertine statues both favourite materials of the artist. With great care and attention the owner has transformed lovely stone houses on the estate into pretty apartments. He has personally overseen all the restorations and added many of his own artistic touches creating lovely accommodation in a simplistic, unique and comfortable style, whilst retaining original characteristics such as exposed stone walls and adding some interesting turn of the century furnishings.

Fonte 2, one half of a gorgeous characteristic stone house, is a lovely apartment with an adjacent annex. Fonte 2 has its own terrace area complete with table, chairs and barbeque for dining al fresco and enjoying a pretty view over the garden area with examples of the owners art. The apartment is on the ground floor and has characteristic beamed ceilings. The accommodation consists of a lovely living room with sitting area with settee (which converts to a double bed on request to accommodate extra persons) leading to a kitchen area with dining table and chairs. On the same floor is a pretty double bedroom (which can convert to a twin on request) and a shower room. In a separate little annex just across from the apartment is a little dependence with a bedroom with French bed and a shower room.

The apartments terrace is the perfect spot for meals al fresco or just for relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere. There is plenty more space in the extensive grounds and around the large swimming pool (16m x 8m) where there is a sunbathing area. There is also a unique heated covered swimming pool (9m x 3m) and a shower w/c for guests use as well as a laundry area with washing machine (payable locally) and parking within the grounds of the estate. There is also a lovely communal room containing some exhibits of the owners art work, a satellite television, and where breakfast and dinner can be served on request.

Fonte 2 is in a lovely location, surrounded by wooded countryside yet the ancient village of Monteverdi Marittimo, with its shops and restaurant is just 500m away and can be reached on foot. There are a further selection of amenities at Castagneto Carducci and the nearest lovely beaches of the Tuscan coast are less than half an hours’ drive away. There is much to see in the nearby area, the beautiful bay of Baratti overlooked by the interesting historical town of Populonia, lovely nature parks, Etruscan ruins and even the Isle of Elba is easily reached via the ferry port less than an hours’ drive away. The spectacular town of Massa Marittima is close by and the famous historic cities of San Gimignano, and Volterra, as well as the art centres of Siena and Florence, are all easily visited in a day.
