Two Bedroom Ground Floor Cottage in Umbria

Santamaria cottage is situated on a lovely Umbrian estate immersed in the countryside with unspoilt views all around. The cottage has its own terrace complete with barbecue, table and chairs for dining al fresco overlooking the swimming pool which is situated in a lovely position below and enjoys a wonderful panorama.

The estate, which spreads over ten hectares and grows wheat and produces saffron, consists of a farmhouse which is divided into just four apartments and the detached Santamaria cottage. The cottage which is nicely furnished in homely country style, is divided into two halves connected by a large sliding door which kept open unites the two living areas. Each half of the cottage has a living room with kitchen area, dining table and chairs, fireplace, easy chairs and television, triple bedroom with double and single bed and a shower room.

In front of the cottage is a private terrace area, which has a barbeque and table and chairs creating the ideal spot for relaxing and dining al fresco. The terrace overlooks the pretty swimming pool (11m x 6m) which is situated in a sunny position below and enjoys lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Also on the estate is a children’s play area, and table tennis table, bicycles and boules are available for guests use. Close by is a horse riding stables and there is a handy restaurant within walking distance (300m) from the property. The nearest local village with a selection of shops and facilities is just 4km away.

The location is a great base from which to explore Umbria. The famous ‘Le Marmore’ waterfalls, exquisite Spoleto, home of ‘The Two Worlds’ music festival, and the lovely town of Todi to name but a few, are all within easy reach and the rest of the regions treasures such as Assisi and Perugia are all easily accessible via excellent road connections. Even Florence and Rome can be visited in a day.
