Marchesina G is a characteristic apartment in a large Umbrian manor house on an estate perfectly placed in the countryside between Todi and Perugia. The manor house is surrounded by spacious grounds shaded by centuries old trees and in a lovely position is a swimming pool which enjoys fine views of the surrounding countryside.

The Marchesina estate originally dating back to the 1800’s has been fully restored and converted into six characteristic apartments and two rooms. On the ground floor of the manor house there is a beautiful lounge with original fireplace and exquisitely frescoed walls, perfect for relaxing or reading a book. The apartments themselves are comfortably furnished and many feature turn of the century pieces and family heirlooms creating a warm atmosphere.

Marchesina G, is situated in a lovely restored stone building adjacent to the main manor house. Effectively on the raised ground floor it has its own entrance via a couple of steps finishing in a little covered loggia. The apartment consists of a living room with kitchen area, dining table and chairs, settee (which converts to a bed on request), fireplace, double bedroom, twin bedroom, and two shower rooms. There are areas in the garden with table and chairs for dining al fresco and a barbecue for guests use. The grounds are shaded by mature trees, and nearby are ancient olive groves and vineyards from which the estate produces its own olive oil and wine. A welcome addition to the property, is a characteristic restaurant where delicious Umbrian dishes using fresh ingredients from the farms orchards and vegetable garden are served.

In a pretty position secluded by hedges and bordered by a sun terrace is the lovely swimming pool (14m x 7m) which enjoys fine views of the countryside. The pool is the perfect spot for relaxing and taking a cooling dip. If you’re feeling energetic, mountain bikes are provided, and there is also a children’s play area for the little ones.

Just 2 kms away is the charming little village of Gualdo Cattaneo where there are local shops and restaurant and there is a further selection within easy driving distance. The location is perfect for visiting the famous region of Umbria. Known as the ‘green heart’ of Italy, Umbria is filled with beautiful countryside and interesting hill towns rich in history. Perugia is just 35 minutes by car and Assisi, Spello, and Todi to name but a few wonderful places to visit are all easily reached via excellent nearby road links, and even Rome is a feasible day trip.
