Situated in the valley below the town of Cortona proudly perched on the hillside just 1 km away, Villa Selene was originally the country residence of a local noble family. It is composed of a 19th Century villa, No 371 Selene 6, and two separated cottages fully restored, No 373 Selene Winery and Selene Lemon, described here. In the grounds of the estate is a lovely swimming pool (9m x 4m) enjoying a pretty view of the countryside and surrounded by lawns and mature gardens with majestic cypress trees, colourful plants and secluded spots for relaxing and enjoying the peace and tranquillity.

Selene Lemon, which originally housed the villas delicately scented lemon trees for storage in the winter, has also been recently renovated and still retains many original characteristics such as the beamed ceilings and cotto floors. Its’ living room has a sitting area with settee and armchair, dining table and chairs, kitchen area and there is a double bedroom and shower room. Both the living room and bedroom have lovely arched glass patio doors opening directly onto the terrace at the front of the cottage.

Selene Lemon is immersed in lovely mature grounds with many secluded spots relaxing in the garden or by the private pool (9m x 4m), set in a charming position below and with lovely views of the valley and medieval Cortona on the hillside.

Cortona, just 1 km away and accessible on foot is a charming town. Rich in history, it is a real joy to explore and has a variety of shops, and excellent restaurants. Within easy driving distance are many of the finest places of interest of Tuscany, including Siena, Montepulciano, and Pienza. Lake Trasimeno and the Umbrian towns of Perugia and Assisi can also be easily reached.

The whole estate, composed by Selene 6, Selene Winery and Selene Lemon, is a perfect choice for a group travelling together as in total accommodates up to ten persons (plus two more extra persons on request), yet the individual accommodation in Selene Lemon, suitable for two persons, offers discreet privacy to guests. The estate’s swimming pool is exclusive only to guests booking the entire property.
