The house is on two levels and comfortably furnished in simple Tuscan style. The ground floor consists of a living room with sitting area with two settees (both of which can convert to two single beds on request) and patio doors opening onto the partially covered veranda overlooking the swimming pool, a dining area with table, chairs, fireplace, satellite television and kitchen area which opens onto second lovely terrace area with table, chairs, gazebo and barbeque. There is also a handy little washroom with w.c. and washing machine on this floor. Stairs lead to the first floor where there is a landing with two armchairs (which can convert to single beds on request) opening onto a balcony, three bedrooms and three ensuite shower rooms. Two of the bedrooms open onto a shared balcony enjoying views of the valley towards Sassetta which can be glimpsed through the trees beyond.

A highlight of the house is its' spacious terraces, one secluded by hedges and furnished with lovely wrought iron gazebo, table, chairs and barbeque perfect for dining al fresco, the other, which large and partially covered, overlooks the pool. Practically on the doorstep of the house, this pretty swimming pool (12m x 6m) is built into the terraced land and is a wonderful spot for relaxing, enjoying the sunshine and taking a refreshing dip. The pool is shared by guests staying at Villa Castore and a further three apartments in two separate houses in another part of the grounds.

If a day by the sea tempts, the owners of the property have a stretch of private sand dunes on the coast to the north of Marina di Castagneto just 12 kms away, which they kindly put at the disposal of guests staying at the villa. As well as being able to enjoy the beach and sea here, part of the dunes have a fenced in botanical garden aiming to preserve plants, flowers and rarer dune vegetation.

Villa Castore is in a lovely countryside location, surrounded by chestnut woods, yet the ancient characteristic hill town of Sassetta with its local shops and restaurant is just 800m away and can be reached on foot. There are a further selection of restaurants and amenities within easy driving distance towards the coast and there are a host of beaches, interesting local towns, nature parks and vineyards to visit. Further inland San Gimignano, Volterra and Siena are wonderful days out.
